Seeing Machines and Ambarella Collaborate on Integrated Solutions for Forward-Facing ADAS, Occupant and Driver Monitoring in the Cab

This unique technological combination will bring Seeing Machines OMS and DMS technology solutions to Ambarella’s CV2x CVflow.® A family of Edge AI-on-Chip (SoC) perception systems. Ambarella’s CV2x-based reference design platform performs vision processing and fusion of Seeing Machines pilot monitoring software with forward-facing ADAS functionality to provide a complete DMS and ADAS solution and integrated.

Ambarella’s SoCs target both front-facing DMS, OMS and ADAS cameras. As part of this collaboration, Seeing Machines will enable its integrated Driver Monitoring Engine (e-DME) software to provide a highly optimized and accelerated back end. This e-DME back-end will use the CVflow acceleration engine inside Ambarella’s SoCs, allowing designers of forward-facing ADAS cameras to seamlessly integrate Seeing Machines’ proven OMS and DMS technologies. .

This agreement marks the start of a strategic relationship in which Ambarella and Seeing Machines intend to combine their skills, products, intellectual property and experience in the field of the integration of AI vision algorithms to provide the best system solutions. monitoring of drivers and occupants.

Paul McGlone, CEO of Seeing Machines commented : “The contextual information that can be gathered through the amalgamation of inward and outward facing detection is an important area for us as we seek to advance our security-focused technology solutions. Ambarella has made significant strides in forward-facing detection, with its recent Oculii radar technology acquisition and collaborations in the algorithmic space, to make this a truly exciting opportunity for Seeing Machines.

“Ambarella’s benchmark design platform, targeting the location of the headliner, is a key integration point for DMS / OMS technology in the treatment and sensor space. We are excited to be working to offer our Ambarella silicon targeting e-DME and also to work closely on merging our technology with companies focusing on external vehicle detection. “

Fermi Wang, President and CEO of Ambarella commented : “Ambarella’s partnership with Seeing Machines, the leader in cabin surveillance solutions, offers our customers the front-facing ADAS camera and the most advanced DMS solutions. Leveraging the peak performance per watt of our SoCs CVflow AI Perception and Sophisticated AI from Seeing Machines Driver and occupant monitoring algorithms will enable automotive safety systems to achieve the highest levels of accuracy and reliability. “

About the machines to see (LSE: VOIR), a global company founded in 2000 and based in Australia, is an industry leader in vision-based surveillance technology that enables machines to see, understand, and assist people. Seeing Machines’ technology portfolio of AI algorithms, on-board processing and optics powers products that need to provide reliable real-time understanding of vehicle operators. The technology covers the critical measurement of where a driver is looking, up to the classification of their cognitive state as it applies to crash risk. Reliable “driver condition” measurement is the end goal of Driver Monitoring System (DMS) technology. Seeing Machines develops DMS technology to provide automotive, commercial fleet, off-road and aviation safety. The company has offices at Australia, United States, Europe and Asia, and provides technology solutions and services to industry leaders in each vertical market. www.seeingmachines.com
