Halloween Hysteria, 5-7 p.m., downtown Fremont. Families are invited to cheat or spoil downtown at participating businesses. A children’s costume contest will be held at First National Bank on the northeast corner of Sixth and Main streets. Don Peterson & Associates at Sixth Street and Park Avenue will host a haunted house. Gallery 92 West and Keene Memorial Library will be offering face painting with Halloween songs and story time at 92 W. Sixth St. All activities are free.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection, 3 pm-6pm, Washington County Recycling Center, 440 S. Third Ave., Blair. The Nebraska Loess Hills Resource Conservation & Development Council coordinates the free collection for residents of Dodge, Washington, Burt, Thurston, Dakota and Cuming counties. This collection will not accept tires, electronic equipment, household appliances, PCBs, picric acid, scientific laboratory materials, radioactive materials or biohazards.

Fremont Eagles Club is open from 3 p.m. to midnight, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. The club can stay open later or close earlier depending on business. The kitchen will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The menu will include 10 ounce catfish, shrimp, burgers and cheeseburgers, soup, wings, appetizers, fish fillets. chicken, baked potatoes, fries, onion rings and salad. Halloween trick-or-treat and decorating, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area. Campers are encouraged to decorate their campsites with a Halloween theme.
