Senior SC officials to appeal federal judge’s freeze on state’s new abortion law. Governor Henry McMaster, Speaker of the House Jay Lucas and Attorney General Alan Wilson, three senior Republican officials from South Carolina, filed a notice on Friday saying they intended to appeal an injunction issued on last month by a federal judge who barred the state’s new anti-abortion law from taking effect. SC Senate passes bill requiring districts to offer 5-day in-person learning. The South Carolina Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 704, which requires all school districts in South Carolina to offer five-day face-to-face instruction beginning with spring break. Currently, 54 school districts in the state are face-to-face five days a week, but the majority of other districts plan to reach that level soon. Source: WCNC TV
